Essence 16 (2025) – Handcrafted Native Wood Sculpture
Essence 16 (2025) is a small-scale, one-of-a-kind sculpture that makes a thoughtful and intimate gift. Handcrafted from pōhutukawa roots salvaged from fallen trees in Cheltenham and St Heliers, this piece brings together two coastal origins into a quietly balanced form.
The intertwined root structure creates natural movement and tension, giving the sculpture a sense of depth and resilience. Finished with natural oil and wax, the surface reveals the rich grain and warm tones of pōhutukawa while preserving the timber’s organic character.
An artwork made from reclaimed New Zealand native wood that symbolises connection, grounding, and endurance. Each piece is entirely unique, making it a personal and meaningful expression of love.
