A precious pohutukawa root from a fallen tree at Beachlands — held for years until the right gesture revealed itself: simply resting on a stone.
At its finest point just 2mm across, this tiny root grew as roots do — around obstacles, toward sustenance, through whatever came. The heart was already there. It needed nothing added.
