There is something ancient and resolute in the roots of a Pohutukawa — trees that have gripped the edge of Aotearoa's coastline for centuries, weathering storms and salt winds with quiet endurance. Navigator 7 draws on that same spirit.

Crafted from Pohutukawa roots salvaged from fallen trees in the Auckland region, this sculpture honours the raw, twisting energy of wood that has already lived a full life. Finished in oil and wax, the natural grain and form are preserved and deepened, revealing the character that only time and the elements can create.
